^{NETFLIXAll of Us Are Dead is now streaming on of Us Are Dead With the success of Squid Game still smacking the algorithm around, another Korean social-horror series is getting some serious leg-up from Netflix in the expectation that it may attract eyeballs in the same numbers. All of Us Are Dead is a South Korean series that takes on the zombie genre and, yes, finds a few new things to say within it. The show is set – like Squid Game – mostly in a single location. Our heroes and villains are the teenaged students of a high school which has become ground-zero in an outbreak of a virus that can cause, well, you know what. As the students realise that they have been abandoned and the government and military would rather contain them with the outbreak, than try to rescue them and risk the virus escaping, then it's on for young and old. But mostly young. All of Us Are Dead is based on a wildly successful web-only cartoon series, which maybe explains how it could be so quickly rushed into production. There was a pre-existing blueprint for this show which the makers have followed pretty closely. All of Us Are Dead does a fantastic job of introducing a large core cast and establishing a lot of characters as distinct personalities. The teen-soap elements that justify the12-hour running time are all present, with crushes, betrayals and redemptions all coming thick and fast. At times, All of Us Are Dead is as much Skins as it is, err 'Brains...', but there is always another bout of horrific violence to look forward to as well. It's been 20 years since Alex Garland and Danny Boyle resurrected the zombie movie with 28 Days Later. In fact, Munich The Edge of War has probably enough characters and interlocked narratives to sustain a six-part series. Which might explain why it is both a good and a frustrating feature film to watch. The Edge of War takes place between 1932 and 1938. The bright-eyed and hopeful young British and German Oxford graduates of the opening scenes are about to take up their careers in various positions within the governments of their countries. Six years later, as chance would have it, this same group who once quaffed stolen bubbly on the banks of the Thames are now facing each other across an ideological divide, as British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain prepares to meet Adolf Hitler at what would become an infamous summit. The Edge of War might be revisionist and the young characters at its heart are all fictional, but we are not in Inglourious Basterds territory here – and even though there are tension and surprises, the ending of the film is never in doubt. Which is maybe a fatal flaw in any thriller. However, Jeremy Irons is terrific as Chamberlain – nearly atoning for the trainwreck of House of Gucci, but not quite – while former child star George MacKay Peter Pan and the rest of the younger British and German cast are all absolutely fine. Munich The Edge of War is a well-made, sturdy and polished film. I really wouldn't have minded seeing it on a big screen, or as a limited is now available to stream on Netflix. Spycraft This series dropped about a year ago, but the success of Munich The Edge of War and others seems to have pushed it back up the ratings. Across eight half-hour episodes, Spycraft takes the expected detours through the often-told not-so-secrets of how the spies go about their business. What makes this series more interesting than most – and maybe worth a binge if you're the sort of viewer who can only tolerate non-fiction, is that it is fairly recent, with cases from 2018 that affected the 2018 US elections among its examples. The show also states beyond any doubt that any prominent foreign businessman or politician who stayed in a Russian hotel would be filmed, no matter what they were getting up to in their hotel room. Especially is they had designs on one day being the President of the Stomper is now available to stream on Netflix. Romper Stomper And lastly, the film that made our boy Russ' a star has also unexpectedly dropped in the last few weeks. Romper Stomper is a still effective and confrontational portrait of skinhead youth in Melbourne in the early 1990s, spending their nights attacking and harassing the local Asian and migrant communities. Even at the time, Romper Stomper attracted plenty of criticism for seemingly revelling in violence and glorifying Russell Crowe's thug “Hando” as some sort of flawed but charismatic anti-hero. Seen 30 years after it was first released, it's pretty clear – even if it wasn't at the time – that director Geoffrey Wright was far too in love with the spectacle of the film and didn't have a clue about drawing credible or believable characters. Literally everyone on screen is a two-dimensional cliché. The film's continued appeal to exactly the bullies and cowards Wright thought he was “exposing” is the sad proof of that. There are a lot of under-seen and under-appreciated Aussie films in the vaults. I'm disappointed – but not surprised – that Netflix have chosen to thrust this one back into the daylight.}

I adore some of the best horror movies out there. I even ranked all of the Halloween movies. So you better believe that when I found out Netflix was coming out with another amazing Korean horror series, I was down. As someone who had previously binged all of Archive 81, I was ready to get creeped out again by this zombie outbreak that happened at a high school, of all places. And thankfully, I was not disappointed. However, after binging through these episodes so quickly, one can only wonder what to watch next. If you’re looking for more media like All Of Us Are Dead, you should check out these amazing Korean horror movies and TV shows. Korea knows how to do their horror really well, so if you loved this show, I’m positive you’ll love all of these as well. This fantastic show follows a crowned prince as he embarks on an adventure when his kingdom is falling apart. A plague is turning people into monsters, and now, he must figure out the reason why. As someone who also binge-watched all of Kingdom in a day, I can say that this show is freaking awesome. Not only does it have the zombie gore I’m sure fans of All Of Us Are Dead ask for, but the set design of this show is top tier. As a period piece, the designers have to work meticulously harder to make sure everything looks relatively realistic to the setting, and they do a fantastic job here. This critically-acclaimed horror movie follows a group of people traveling on a bullet train to Busan in South Korea in an attempt to stay alive during a horrible zombie outbreak. I could go on for hours about Train to Busan. It’s a must-watch for fans of All Of Us Are Dead. This was one of the first horror movies I ever watched and was one of the first pieces of zombie imagery that got me into the genre. The acting is phenomenal, the themes incredible, the story perfect - it all just molds together perfectly. Apparently the movie is receiving a remake, which lowkey makes me mad - just stick to the original. The Wailing is all about a police officer taking on one of the biggest jobs of his life when a strange disease starts to cause people to become murderous, and inevitably die. What is the source of all of this? Keep watching to find out. Man, this list just had hit after hit. This is one of the best Korean horror movies overall, one that didn’t even need gore because it has such good suspense and such a great story. But, with the addition of the monsters and the blood, it makes it that much better. These creatures are terrifying and will haunt your dreams, and these folks turn fast, just like in All Of Us Are Dead. This horror series, Sweet Home, follows Cha Hyun-soo, a young man who lives alone in an apartment building. But when his home is threatened by the sudden appearance of monsters that want to end the world, he teams up with his neighbors to shield themselves inside and stay alive. While Sweet Home doesn’t have the same sort of zombies as All Of Us Are Dead, the monsters in this are terrifying. Like, actually makes me want to turn my head away from the TV-terrifying. However, what really makes this show even more great is that it’s all about that constant struggle to survive together, and the bonds as well as the betrayals that are formed when everything seems to be at a loss. Stream Sweet Home on Netflix. opens in new tabImage credit Lotte Entertainment/NetflixAlive 2020In Alive, a young man who regularly streams video games online is faced with the ultimate task - trying to survive alone in his home when the rest of Korea has an outbreak from a zombie pandemic. Time to use those video game skills, right? I mean, I feel like this is the perfect movie for fans of All Of Us Are Dead. The horror film isn’t as scary as some of the others on this list, admittedly, but that’s why it feels like the best choice for fans to view next. Not only does it have a likable, young protagonist, but the story is a lot of fun for everyone to enjoy. It’s also a nice commentary on the effects of social media on today’s society. This movie follows a prince and a minister, who are both vying for power and to overrule the other. The only issue is that there’s a little zombie plague that’s surrounding their the film received mixed reviews and didn’t do well at the box office, I think that Rampant is a fun watch. It almost reminds me of Kingdom in a way with it’s great set pieces and really cool-looking zombies. For fans of All Of Us Are Dead, it has all the same gore and terrifying moments you would expect to see, but is paired with some really cool duels and fights as well. Strangers From Hell also know as Hell Is Other People is a horror television series, again, taking place in a singular building, except this time, it’s a dormitory. But as soon as the lead character moves in, strange things begin to occur, and now, he must investigate it to find out what the case is. Strangers From Hell is certainly an interesting time from beginning to end. While it’s not as up front about its horror like All Of Us Are Dead are, the slow-build into the reveal of what’s happening in this dormitory is what I love about it. It’s paced perfectly, with characters that are not only compelling but creepy as all heck. You’ll surely enjoy this one. Stream Strangers From Hell on Netflix. opens in new tabImage credit StudioCanalSeoul Station 2016This is more for the people who did watch Train to Busan, because Seoul Station acts as a prequel to it. This animated horror film tells the origin story of the zombie pandemic from the original film, this time following a young woman who is desperate to survive in the worst circumstances possible - where everyone is eating each other. Look, I’ll be honest - since this film is animated, I’d say that it’s not as bloody or gory or even as scary as some of the other picks on this list. But hey, animated shows and movies can still be violent as heck - shows like Invincible or Attack on Titan have proved that - which is why I think this is perfect for All Of Us Are Dead fans, as well as people who have seen Train to Busan. It’s a great origin story with a really interesting quest with the main character, and it’s cool to see these events laid out in animated form. The Odd Family Zombie on Sale follows the exploits of a family who end up discovering a zombie due to a pharmaceutical company experimenting on it. But instead of turning the zombie in, they try to make money off of it. Yes, it’s definitely more of a comedy, but after the horror that is All Of Us Are Dead, as well as all these other movies, sometimes you just need a comedy. It almost reminds me of Shaun of the Dead in a way, except this time, they try to make money off of zombies. That’s a premise worth watching in of itself. This Korean horror series follows a group of survivors who must find a way to somehow stay alive when a weird black smoke emerges from a sinkhole, and when people breathe it in, it turns them into cannibalistic mutants. While the mutants in this don’t look the same as the zombies in All Of Us Are Dead, what I think is great for fans of the Netflix show is what the survivors do to try and stay alive. The main two characters of this, Lee Hwa-sun and Yoo Tae-han, have great chemistry, as well as everyone else who is attempting to figure out what the heck is going on with this black smoke. It’s a slow-build, that’s for sure, but it’s worth the pay-off. Stream Dark Hole on about all of these has me excited for the 2022 Netflix TV schedule and all the new shows coming out. If All Of Us Are Dead was this good, I can’t wait to see what else the streaming platform has in store for us. And now, you just might have a new favorite horror show or movie to watch. Register an account. it was ok. got a lot better after episode 40. the beginning had very short chapters and they were action scenes so a single scene got dragged out over several episodes. the author loved to also include several unnecessary panels of people's faces to show their gradual reaction during an action scene, which didn't help with the storytelling delivery and pace; the panelling choices weren't always the best. the episodes got a lot longer later on. episode 126 was the most well-written episode in this series. Don't listen to anyone here, don't pay attention to the low ratings and just read this webtoon, dammit. It's so good! Read straight to the end, because it's that good and it's worth it. I promise you, it's good and you'll like it. It's so emotional reading from start to finish. I have so many feelings right now. What a ride. Wow. This is reminding me of DEAD DAYS, which is another really good and realistic zombie suggest having access to all the chapters all at once so that you don't get bogged down by the daily pass silliness on LINE Webtoon. You see some people complaining about that here and yeah, it can be a pain. It worked for me though as I had to prepare myself mentally and emotionally before reading, so I hoard and read a bunch of em at that last panel on the last chapter.. that final reveal / ending. Ugh!... Last updated on February 24th, 2022, 154am I have always disliked how zombies is such a cliché trope in media, but I love how this story realistically showcases what would happen in this type of disaster event. I've read "My Daughter Is A Zombie", and this webtoon gives similar vibes in the portrayal of a zombie outbreak, but the difference is that that was mostly a comedy, and this one is more drama and realism and it's not at all way the characters survive and navigate through the 7 days is excruciating - this is what Kesaran's comment is complaining about, that the pacing is bad. But uh, try being stranded for even one day and see how slow time passes by when that happens. When isolated and in survival mode, time becomes does not become a not to dismiss the thought on the slow pacing yes, the kids did spend 90% of the story waiting or running around in the school, and the action scenes were so spread out that even one event could happen over several chapters. But the point of the "drag" is to draw out the emotions of what is happening and the direness of the situation. That is why this webtoon is realistic, because unlike other cliché zombie movies, this one REALLY focuses on the bond that the characters had and how hard it is to "kill" a zombified person. To a high school student, putting an end to someone's life is extremely unfathomable. Most people can't even butcher a live animal by themselves. I appreciate that the author illustrated and showed the psychological and emotional impact that the kids went through.Also, I think the fact that this is a daily pass series does not help with the pacing at all LOLI didn't quite care about the adult world, but it was important to look at what was happening to try and resolve the zombie outbreak. There wasn't the same level of emotional attachment to the adult characters compared to the students, but it was the high school that was the focus of the story, so that's character building is phenomenal, and I can't help but mourn over all the characters that died. No, that's not a spoiler, because death is to be expected in a zombie story 🤣. The art, too, is something that deserves praise. Those zombies are uglyyyyyyyy, and I mean that in a good way.
